Project Description: Robinson

The goal of this project was to open up the kitchen to the main living area, along with re-designing the layout of the bottom level to allow for flexible function. The clients gravitated towards Scandinavian/mid-century design, therefore we unified the home with a totally new aesthetic throughout.

A notable feature of this new space is the cook top in front of the window. We did not want to lose the light of the window, nor have the cook top in the island, therefore integrated a heat resistant glass pane into the counter top for a seamless, easy to maintain result.

Beyond the dramatic transformation to the upstairs, we followed through the new style direction downstairs, and modernized their main entrance to allow for a cohesive introduction to the home.

The basement was re-developed in order to fulfill the clients need of having flexibility of this level offering a 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom suite, and a separate laundry, mudroom, and rec space.
